The original project started between songwriter Pete Feenstra and Finnish guitarist Muddy Mannin (ex Wishbone Ash) and took a different turn with the arrival of singer/guitarist Marcus Malone.
Muddy had finished his latest solo record ‘River Flows’ – then came the lockdown.
Plans had run out of time and he came into contact with Feenstra, a promoter writer and radio program maker for some ideas.
Manninen wanted to concentrate on the guitar work and looked for a singer and they ended up with Marcus Malone.
Malone’s soulful voice has been appreciated and the collaboration which initially was to be an EP, grew into a full-fledged album..
The songs are very diverse and that was the intention.
We hear heavy groovy songs like ‘Angel Town or ‘Natural light’, but also swinging Southern rock songs like ‘Delivery Man’ or ‘She Knows Every Move’.
On ‘Luxury Girl and ‘Mexican Romance’ the funk rock aspect gets the upper hand and ‘With My Baby By My Side’ we have a cinematic rhythm that could be a soundtrack for a David Lynch movie.
This is a surprising disc with many twists and turns and suitable for adventurous listeners.
